it has been a nice and long summer holidays, a lovely thing that is coming to end soon. we travelled a bit, rested a lot, slept as much as we wanted to, cooked proper meals and managed some renovation work in the appartament. i really feel relaxed and am able to enjoy life more. I have lots of photos that i am going to share later. For now, some quiet random still life photos, taken during past few months.
I am quite sure that here isn’t a book by Murakami that i haven’t red. so, there is no wonder i grabbed this one when i saw it in my local library. I am a huge fan of his work and although i didn’t equally like all his books, i am always curiuos to read what he comes up with. I loved 1Q84 and hard boiled wonderland and wind-up bird cronicle most of all.
colorless Tsukuri tazaki tells the story on rather the minimalistic and realistic side instead of being on multi-dimentional and Murakami surreal. It is an easy read with the typical casual harmoniuos Murakami storytelling but capturing from the start anyway. the main character is a 36y Tsukuri, who sees himself as rather un-interesting (most readers going to disagree with that, most likely) and his story from when he was very young boy. his present life is intertwinned with his dreams, music, memories and colors in a similar way as in other Murakami books.
a lovely summer read if you like his other books.
We are on vacation lately, sleeping a lot and enjoying slow days. forgotten are busy schedules and rushed meals. I feel more relaxed already after the first week and happy to feel my energy coming back. The weather hasn’t been nice here this summer but we had a few warm sunny days. the rest was rainy and chilly but not so much can be done about that.
we managed to go for some hiking trips, one short and one longer and had one roadtrip. I took lots of film photos but messed up with camera settings for many shots especially on the sunny days, so a lot editing has to be done to recover at least some. I will try to share these later.
looking at one of the recent film rolls, i found many photos with purples and pinks. This is not something i plan or do on purpose, it just happens. I see my own Instagram accound often themed by lots of all kind of blue, my flickr photos seem to vary in color in different periods of time. Even my Flickr favorites seem to have some color in common. How about you, do you find that your photos are themed by some color, or do you shoot variety of colors?
